As part of the ongoing research and stakeholder engagement activities of the DISCOVER project, our partner IMT Atlantique held a meeting with Frantz Daniaud, founder of the association L’Écrouvis, focused on the reuse of building materials and trainer at the training organisation Noria Formation.
The discussion was carried out by Sarah Ghaffari and Angeliki Drongiti from IMT Atlantique and lasted three hours, providing valuable insights into current practices in demolition and deconstruction, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities related to the reuse of building materials.
The exchange helped deepen the understanding of how reuse is currently approached in practice, including the barriers faced by professionals and the skills needed to support more circular construction processes. It also opened up new opportunities for further engagement, including the identification of additional contacts for interviews and the possibility to observe relevant training sessions.
Through dialogue with practitioners, trainers and reuse-focused organisations, IMT Atlantique, represented by Sarah Ghaffari and Angeliki Drongiti, contributes to DISCOVER’s efforts to connect project research with real-life deconstruction practices and the evolving needs of the construction sector.
