The DISCOVER Horizon project participated in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025, held from 4 to 6 November in Barcelona, presenting its innovative approach to circularity in the construction sector.
The project was featured at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) stand, where visitors had the opportunity to meet the team and learn how robotics, engineering, and digital technologies can support sustainable deconstruction, material recovery, and reuse.
A key highlight of the participation was the on-site demonstration of the DISCOVER solution, showcasing how robotic and digital tools can contribute to safer, more efficient, and more circular deconstruction processes. The demonstration offered visitors a practical insight into the project’s technological developments and their potential application in the construction and demolition sector.
Funded under the Horizon Europe programme, DISCOVER aims to develop innovative robotic and digital solutions that enable the recovery and reuse of construction materials, contributing to a more circular, resource-efficient, and sustainable built environment.
The participation in SCEWC25 provided an excellent opportunity to present the project’s progress, engage with stakeholders, and highlight the role of automation and digital innovation in supporting the transition towards circular construction.
