On 23 June 2026, IMT Atlantique, partner of the DISCOVER project, participated in the event “Faire filière(s) : le défi du réemploi”, organised in the framework of the General Assembly of Novabuild in Carquefou, France.

The event focused on a key question for the construction sector: how can isolated reuse initiatives be scaled up into structured and sustainable networks? Discussions addressed current challenges related to building material reuse, including the need to consolidate economic models, clarify regulatory frameworks, strengthen cooperation between actors, and support the development of coordinated reuse value chains.

As part of this activity, IMT Atlantique also held a meeting with the Fédération Française du Bâtiment – French Building Federation, contributing to DISCOVER’s stakeholder engagement and field research activities. The exchange provided valuable input for the development of the project’s first interview protocol, supporting a better understanding of current practices, barriers and opportunities related to reuse, deconstruction and circular construction.

This participation is closely aligned with DISCOVER’s objectives to promote more sustainable and circular practices in the built environment
