The DISCOVER project was highlighted during Dia do Betão 2025 (Concrete Day), organised by APEB – Associação Portuguesa das Empresas de Betão Pronto, in a presentation focused on innovation, sustainability, and decarbonisation across the concrete and cement value chain.

Representing C5LAB – CoLAB for Sustainable Cement, Margarida Mateus presented how C5LAB is supporting new approaches to unlock greater potential for innovation and sustainability in the sector. The session addressed the urgent challenge of fully decarbonising the cement industry by 2050 and the need for collaborative, forward-looking solutions.

Within this context, the DISCOVER project was presented as part of wider efforts to advance more sustainable construction practices. By combining digital innovation, circular design, and material recovery approaches, DISCOVER contributes to the transition towards a more circular and resource-efficient built environment.

The participation in APEB’s Concrete Day provided an opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen dialogue with sector stakeholders, and highlight the importance of innovation in achieving a net-zero future for construction.
